Perspectives on Sexuality

Timeless Women Give New Perspectives on Sexuality

Society now permits women to express their sexuality, but what does that mean for most women? How do you communicate what you want sexually? Do you know what you want?

Isadora AlmanCertified Sexologist and Relationship Counselor, Isadora Alman, MFT, says clear communications is crucial to being fulfilled sexually and the first person to communicate with is yourself. For 35 years, Isadora has helped thousands of people traverse the minefield of confusing myths of what women and men want, society says they should want, and what they really want in order to have healthy, happy sexual relationships.

Her column, “Ask Isadora,” has appeared in news weeklies for more than 25 years. She has written several books, including Doing It: Real People Having Really Good Sex and her new novel, Bluebirds of Impossible Paradises. Her private practice is in San Francisco; she is a frequent radio guest, blogs on “Psychology Today” website and helps thousands more people through her free online Sexuality Forum.

Isadora’s approach is very practical. She advises women to treat finding a partner like shopping or hunting for an apartment. Her lighthearted, good-humored approach is refreshing and insightful.
