		<description>As a volunteer, I don&#039;t expect anything in return. But, I have received thank you cards, gift cards, flowers, t-shirts, hats, swag and a pat on the back.  For me, I think the ones that made the most impression was the lady that called me on the phone a week later just to tell me how much she appreciated my help. That made it personal and made me feel that I was more than just another warm body in the line. 

Don&#039;t get me wrong, I also really like gift certificates for ice cream or frozen custard.
