I do not think it is either or. I am currently on the Breast Cancer Foundation Board of Directors. One of our major venues is to insure women who cannot afford mammograms are funded. Women who have had a annual exams long before 40 and do regular breast self-exams are finding tumors early on to receive life-saving treatments. I can say without a doubt women in their 20s are being diagnosed with breast cancer. If these women were to wait until 40 and did not do self-exams they would not be alive to talk about their cancers. Wake up and use that "female intuition and continue to do self-exams and demand mammograms from your health care provider. As a female reporter said "to tell women to not get mammograms and not do self-exams is 'gender genocide'". I think she said this very nicely and I agree with her. Thanks Maggie for bringing it out so women can really be informed.

Too true, Dr. Nancy. It's interesting that any tiny moves toward equal responsibility lead some people to say the struggle is over. We know different!

I continue to be impressed with your energy and passion to help women feel good about themselves. I just read an article in the Huffington Report that said that women has won the war against men and now men were thinking and acting more like women. I sometimes think I have fallen off the face of the earth when I read these kinds of things, did he talk egual pay, did he talk about sexual harrassment and the increasing number of domestic violent cases in our country or what I recently heard was being called

<blockquote>"<strong>gender genicide</strong</blockquote>

>" when women are told mamograms are a waste of time. Have we lost our minds. I say Jean keep up the good work of "women taking care of the world" and of each other. If we don't do it who will??

Nancy:
Spending time with you during the interview was a great experience for me as you have so much wisdom and "moxy"!
We have a lot of work to do and I look forward to joining with you and other women as we continue to make a difference in our world. Your daughters are very fortunate to have your example of what a woman can do and be in this world. Kudos to you! Your work is so important! Oh and by the way, the website is www.moxywomen.com instead of moxywoman.com - I should point that one to my site as well. Would love to see you again soon....
