Learn to be Happy

Contrary to popular belief, happiness is not a natural part of people.  There's no joy gene that some get and others don't. True happiness is not in a pill, a new dress, or even a well-deserved promotion.  Others do not make you happy or take it away.

Long-term satisfaction with our lives comes from finding purpose, living without regret or envy, and having meaningful relationships.  You have to practice, practice, practice.  Granted, some people grow up in tough situations that seem overwhelming, but you can make the choice as to how it affects you.

Will you be miserable and accept defeat or happy for the blessings you have?  It's not easy, but it's your choice.


Be Happy. Be Healthy. Be Happy.

We all know the concept of the chicken and the egg...which comes first?  Healthy and Happy are intertwined as well.

Intellectually, we know that our spirit impacts our body.  Everywhere you read, it's "stress this" and "stress that".  But, we tend to give lip service to the idea of taking real steps toward finding solutions and we feel guilty which leads to more stress.  Being happy is one way to help.

It's hard to work on happiness when you're not healthy.  You may be physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually unhealthy.

  • Do you have regular check-ups?
  • Are you in an abusive relationship with family, friends, workplace situations?
  • Have you let your self-esteem suffer because of appearance, finances, or life situations?
  • Do your ethics and values make you proud or gnaw at your fervor?
